Spike Lee will be honored at the 46th NAACP Image Awards.

The 57-year old filmmaker and political activist will receive the President’s Awardwhen the show airs live on February 6, 2015 at 9 p.m.

The President’s Award is chosen by the NAACP president, and recognizes special achievement and distinguished public service. Past honorees include Lauryn Hill, Bill Clinton, Condoleeza Rice, Rev. Jesse Jackson, Bryant Gumbel, Tavis Smiley, Tom Joyner, Serena Williams, Venus Williams, Muhammad Ali and Colin Powell.
